Booksellers Association, Mr Das is the Secretary General of Afro-Asian
Book Council, Managing Director of UBS Publishers & Distributors
Pvt. Ltd., past President of Federation of Publishers & Booksellers
Associations of India (FPBA), past Chairman of Capexil, and is the
Chairman of Capexil?s Books, Publications & Printing Panel since
1992. He is the Editor of The
Book Industry: Contact, Challenge and Strategy, published by the
Federation of Publishers & Bookseller?s Associations of India (FPBA).
His articles on marketing of books have been published in Indian and
foreign journals.
Advisor
Abul Hasan
Recipient of
Council`s Award for his dedicated services to the publishing fraternity
and for taking initiative to set up the Council and bring in it the
vitality, Mr. Abul Hasan had been the Director of Afro-Asian Book
Council ever since its inception in February 1990 till 2004. In addition
to looking after the Council?s Secretariat, he participated in almost
all the international book fairs and successfully conducted workshops in
various countries. After his resignation, he has agreed to members?
request to act as the Council?s Advisor.
He
is associated with the book industry of Asia and Africa for over five
decades: 32 years with Government of India mostly as book promotion
officer, three years of consultancy (which included working as Acting
Director, UNESCO Regional Office for Book Development in Asia) and 15
years as Honorary Director of this Council.

Saumya Gupta
Mr. Gupta is the Director of Afro-Asian Book Council, Managing
Director of New Age International Pvt. Ltd.
He is basically a Chemical Engineer.
He did his M.S. in publishing from USA.
